Modern slavery and human trafficking policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

Business: Harlington Property Management Ltd

Our commitment

Harlington Property Management Ltd is committed to conducting business ethically and respecting human rights. We do not tolerate modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour or servitude in our business, among the contractors we instruct, or in the properties we manage.

We are not required to publish a statement under the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, but we support its principles and take proportionate steps to identify and address the risk of exploitation.

Scope

This policy applies to everyone who works for us or on our behalf, including directors, employees and contractors.

Our people

Everyone who works for us does so voluntarily, is paid and treated in line with the law, and is treated with dignity and respect. We do not tolerate withholding identity documents, restricting a person’s freedom of movement, or using threats, coercion or debt to compel work.

In the properties we manage

Rented property can be misused to house or exploit victims of trafficking. During referencing, check-ins, inspections and maintenance visits, we stay alert to warning signs such as overcrowding, occupants who are not the named tenants, rent paid by an unconnected third party, or someone who appears to be controlled by another person or does not hold their own documents.

Concerns are reported to us at enquiries@harlingtonproperty.co.uk and, where appropriate, to the police or the Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline.

Contractors and suppliers

We expect the contractors and suppliers we use, including cleaning, maintenance and gardening trades, to employ people lawfully, pay them properly and comply with employment and human rights law. Where we have concerns about a contractor’s labour practices we will raise them, and where exploitation is identified we will stop using that contractor and report it.

Reporting concerns

Anyone can report a concern about suspected exploitation, whether they work for us, rent from us, let through us or supply us.

Email: enquiries@harlingtonproperty.co.uk

You can also contact:

  • Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline: 08000 121 700
  • Police (non-emergency): 101
  • If someone is in immediate danger: 999

We take every concern seriously, handle it sensitively and act on it where appropriate. We will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern honestly, even if it is not later substantiated.

Responsibility and awareness

The director is responsible for this policy. Everyone who works for us is made aware of it and of the warning signs to look for.

Review

We review this policy annually and update it when our business or the risks change.
