Anti-bribery and corruption policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

Business: Harlington Property Management Ltd

Our commitment

Harlington Property Management Ltd conducts its business honestly and does not tolerate bribery or corruption in any form. We comply with the Bribery Act 2010.

Scope

This policy applies to everyone who works for us or on our behalf, including directors, employees, contractors and introducers.

What bribery is

A bribe is anything of value offered, promised, given, requested or accepted to persuade someone to act improperly or to reward them for doing so. It can be money, a gift, hospitality, a discount, a favour or an offer of work.

What we do not do

We do not, directly or through anyone else:

  • offer, give, request or accept a bribe;
  • make facilitation payments, meaning unofficial payments to speed up a routine action;
  • accept anything from an applicant or tenant in return for preferential treatment in letting a property;
  • accept anything from a landlord in return for overlooking safety, licensing, referencing or other legal requirements;
  • accept payments, gifts or favours from contractors or suppliers in return for instructing them;
  • offer anything to a public official, including council or licensing officers, to influence a decision.

Contractors, suppliers and commissions

We choose contractors and suppliers on quality, price and reliability. Any commission, referral fee or other benefit we receive from a third party in connection with a landlord’s property is disclosed to that landlord in our terms of business or in writing before it is earned.

Gifts and hospitality

Modest gifts and hospitality given openly as a genuine thank-you or in the normal course of business are acceptable. Anything beyond that must be approved and recorded in our gifts and hospitality register. Cash and cash equivalents such as vouchers are never accepted. Nothing may be given or accepted while a letting decision, tender or dispute involving that person is under way.

Records

We keep accurate records of payments, commissions, gifts and hospitality. No payment is made or received off the books.

Raising a concern

If you are offered a bribe, asked for one, or suspect bribery connected with our business, report it as soon as possible to:

Email: enquiries@harlingtonproperty.co.uk

We will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who refuses to take part in bribery or who raises a concern honestly.

Breaches

Bribery is a criminal offence. Anyone working for us who breaches this policy may face disciplinary action, and we may end our relationship with any contractor or partner who does so. We will report suspected offences to the appropriate authorities.

Responsibility and review

The director is responsible for this policy. Everyone who works for us is made aware of it. We review it annually and when our business or the risks change.
